The model designation suggests the most important technical characteristics of the Lamborghini LP 550-2 Spyder. LP stands for Longitudinale/Posteriore, for the mid-engine built longitudinally in front of the rear axle and the word spyder symbolizes the blend of a powerful and fascinating super sports car design, resulting in true pleasure for all senses. The rear end remains stable and reliable at all times thanks to the setup, while movement is limited to a minimum through the front axle which steers with a great precision. The powerful V10 engine solves the problem of the oversteering by controlling it and safety is enhanced by the easy-to-control road manners and the ESP assistant system. Excellent directional stability at high speed together with a pleasing bodyroll comfort, are outstanding characteristics of the Gallardo chassis.
