Maserati GranCabrio MC

Maserati revealed a lot of limited editions and sport models for both the convertible and the coupe. Now, their latest addition is the MC version of the hardtop. The carmaker plans to present it at the 2012 Paris Motor Show this month. Until then, the specialists have decided to offer its fans a few details on the Maserati GranCabrio MC, a model that uses a GT platform.

At a first look we can see that the most visible modification of the convertible is the new face, which seems to be borrowed from the MC Stradale coupe. This only means it is 48 mm longer than the standard model and than the Sport one as well. In the end, the new Maserati GranCabrio has a more aggressive look. The engineers have modified the large rear spoiler and as consequence, the car has more down-force to keep the large body glued to the asphalt. Unfortunately there are no information available on the power train so far, but we can only assume it will be powered by the same 4.7-liter V8 offered by Ferrari, just like the coupe version of the MC.

Anyway, this 4.7-liter is capable of generating 444 horsepower and 376 lb. ft. of torque. All the output will be transferred to the wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Inside the spoiler is the third brake light. The standard version of this convertible Maserati has an interior color that matches the body. The specialists also offer different car customization packages which offer it with a carbon finish. This is all folks, at least for now. We will have the opportunity to take a first look at the Maserati GranCabrio at the end of this week at the Motor Show, so stay close.
