McLaren 12C Spider

McLaren developed the 12C Can-Am Edition Concept and the X1, but the two were already covered. Here is some new information on the McLaren 12C Spider. The model is already available for order and apparently deliveries will start first thing next year. The British carmaker revealed the price list for the North American customers. The new McLaren 12C Spider has a starting price established at $265.750. This sum does not include destination tax and port processing fee of $2.500. The carmaker offers an open top version that features a Retractable Hard Top folding roof system that was designed recently. This can be operated on the move. Behind the passenger compartment there is a windscreen which in fact can be lowered or raised, electronically.

The MonoCell in the 12C weights 75 kg and because it needs no additional strengthening to feature in the new McLaren 12C Spider, the available open top model only weights 40 kg more in comparison with its sibling. Under the hood, the 12C Spider features a 3.8-liter V8 twin turbocharged engine capable of developing 616 BHP, just like the coupe version. All the output is being transferred to the wheels through a 7-speed SSG dual-clutch gearbox. This actually enables the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and to reach a top speed of 329 km/h, which means 209 mph. These are all the details the carmaker released on their new achievement, the new McLaren 12C Spider.
