Providing comfort, safety and scheduled to arrive in the U.S. in the summer of 2011, the restyled 2012 C-class features a luxurious interior, emphasized by a stylish dashboard with premium trim elements, new infotainment, navigation system, being described as well by an improved fuel economy by 15 percent due to new direct-injection engines and a redesigned 7-speed transmission with the gear ratios optimized for fuel economy. This improvement is combined with a considerable increase in output, generating 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. It is distinguished from its predecessor by a total of 2,000 new parts and it represents the highest volume model range from Mercedes-Benz, being extremely important as the current range has chalked up global sales of more than one million units since its launch in March 2007.
A front end grille further enhanced by the new bumper design, a center air intake which opens upward in a v-shape as well as distinctive lines which emerge from the base of the aggressive arrow design in the center, mainly provide a dynamic, confident and determined exterior.
The sporty and powerful interior has been obtained by redesigning the dashboard together with more finely detailed surfaces of the controls with a metallic finish, a prominent trim panel, a new-generation center console, a leather steering wheel which features a chrome-plated center spoke, thus emphasizing the sporty ambience of the car.
A new generation of telematics scheduled for successive introduction across further model ranges, is incorporated in the new C-Class, offering its buyers larger 3-D displays, phone book transfer, text message display, wireless music via Bluetooth and a USB interface placed in the center armrest.
