Mercedes SL 500 by Lorinser

This year at the Essen Motor Show we will have the opportunity to see a new version of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL500. This time we are talking about a model that comes with a specially made body kit developed by aftermarket specialists from Lorinser. The model will also be capable of increased power. How exactly? Well, the engineers have reprogrammed the ECU and this way the 4.7-liter V8 engine is now capable of generating 530 horsepower and 590 lb. ft. of torque up from 435 horsepower and 516 lb. ft. of torque. Lorinser specialists can now remove the speed limiter which so far has been limiting the model to a top speed of 174 mph.

The new 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL500 has also received an aerodynamic package and in the end, the specialists have obtained incredible styling with improved airflow and additional down force which allows faster cornering. The shape of the convertible car is enhanced by a new front with large air inlets and a new grill. To reduce lift at the rear, the engineers have developed a rear deck lid spoiler, available either painted to match the car or carbon look.

To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have offered 20-inch light-alloy RSK8 wheels covered in 255 / 30 R20 tires on the front axle and 295 / 25 R20 on the rear one. The tuner recommends using the high performance tires from its technology partner, Continental. Lorinser offers an instrument cluster with a Lorinser logo on the dial, and a scale which goes up to 320 km/h. The aftermarket specialists also provide accessories in fine aluminum, wood or carbon look. Of course, if the customer wants something more, the tuner is there to give it to him, from personalized floor mats to full leather interior. There are also a lot of hand-made elements that will impress a lot, for sure.
