Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG

In the future AMG wants to encourage downsizing and it seems that it is working, even with the Mercedes-Benz and its traditionally big-engine high-performance capabilities. The carmaker developed the high-performance A-Class model called A45 AMG, a vehicle that is expected to compete with models like BMW M135i and the future Audi RS3.

Unfortunately, the carmaker did not reveal the official figures, but specialists tell us to expect around 370 horsepower and 300 lb. ft. of torque. All this will come from a twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter called M133 and has as base the Daimler 2.0-liter turbocharged unit. Rumors has it that the US and Canada will not get this AMG engine, but the same engine will power a four-door CLA 45 AMG version that will be prepared for the North American customers. Maybe a smaller crossover that has as base the A- and B-Class range will also get it. In March at the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz presented the A250 Sport with a full AMG treatment. German carmaker Mercedes-Benz developed the A45 AMG, a model that is a bit of a mystery so far. Anyway, we do know it comes with all-wheel drive and by switching off completely the ESP you get a solid Sport rear bias. The challenge will be the projected 60% of total weight resting over the front axle, so 60% of around 3.300 pounds.

The transmission of the car is positioned in the center like in the case of all AMG models. Official pictures were not made public yet, so all we have so far are these spy ones that count quite a lot. AMG specialists say that they might even develop a Driver Package that will enable the car to reach a top speed of 155 mph. also plans to create three versions of the new compact lineup, hatchback, sedan and crossover.
