Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary Limited Edition

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz developed a racing version of the SLS AMG Coupe for the GT3 series and managed to win three driver and team titles. The first one if the FIA GT1 World Championship, followed by the ADAC GT Masters and the FIA GT3 European Championship. After 45 years of activity, the specialists have decided to build a new celebration model, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary, which will be actually a limited edition, perfect for collectors with a particular penchant for motor racing. Only five units will be available, each powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine.

The starting price was established at EUR446.250 for the German market. The model was modified both on the inside and out and it is now very different from the SLS AMG model delivered in 2011 worldwide. The new alloy wheels and the bodywork of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary are finished in a design magno graphite matte paint, exactly like the SL 65 AMG that was unveiled at the New York Auto Show in April. The doors, the bonnet, mudguards, boot lid, rear wings, front and rear spoilers, but also the rear diffuser, are all made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. On the inside we can see the steel rollover cage finished in design magno graphite, the dashboard, center console finished in matte carbon fiber. There are also the 6-point harnesses and steering wheel painted in silver.

This is not all the models offer. The engineers took care of providing a carbon fiber safety cell on the side of the co-driver, but also a 1 of 5 inscription on the seats and center console. On the indoor car cover, we can see a 45 Years of Driving Performance logo. This is all on the subject for now, but stay tuned for more.
