Every carmaker has to admit that the diesel engine options are very important for any company that wants to have success. Let us take for example the Chinese-owned MG, a carmaker that has been building and selling its MG6 on the British market since last summer. The specialists have only offered a petrol engine for the MG6 and this is in a category that is dominated by diesel engines. Actually in some models these make up for more than 80% of sales, which is a very high percentage.
Well, good news come from MG. Apparently they have decided to move forward and this is why a new 1.9-liter DTi-TECH turbo diesel is on its way, the first one of this kind from SAIC Motor in the UK. This new engine features 4-cylinders which deliver up to 148 BHP and 258 lb. ft. of torque. All the output is being sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. Moving on, you should also know that the power produced enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 8.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 120 mph. In terms of fuel economy the number indicate 46.1 mpg UK in the city and 59.0 mpg UK on the highway. On the combined cycle the new MG MG6 has a fuel consumption of 53.5 mpg UK. The CO2 emission level reaches 139 g/km. Asian specialists offer three grades for the lift back: S, SE and TSE. There is only a single trim level available for the sedan variant, Magnette which has a starting price of GBP16.995.
As standard, the MG6 comes equipped with ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Emergency Brake Assist, Hill Hold air conditioning, Stability Control System, electric windows and a lot more. The S variant costs GBP16.995, followed by the SE with a starting price of GBP18.195 and last, but not least we have the TSE that costs GBP20.195.
