Opel Ampera

The Opel Ampera will be revealed for the first time this year at the International Rally Monte Carlo. The model will be in close competition with 150 green cars that are expected to participate this year. One of the conditions of participation in the Monte Carlo Rally for Alternative Energy Vehicles is to emit less than 115 g/km of CO2. The drivers will want to cover a certain distance and maintain a constant speed, but using as little energy as possible. The model mentioned above, the Ampera won the title of 2012 Car of the Year in Europe. It is powered by an electric motor for the wheels and by a conventional petrol engine that produces electricity after the batteries are empty. The electric drive-train is capable of developing 150 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque enabling the car to speed from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 161 km/h.
