Porsche 993 GT2 by Mcchip

All carmakers know it is very difficult to keep an older car in the center of attention. It needs a lot of refreshing elements and also a lot of dedication. Here we have the story of a classic 993-generation Porsche 911 GT2 that was built sometime at the middle of the 1990s. Its owner has decided to restore it and also turn it into a street legal track racer. The specialists asked to do the honors are the talented German engineers from Mcchip. They started by stripping the car completely and then rebuilt it piece by piece.

In terms of upgrades, the first part modified was the 3.6-liter bi-turbocharged flat-six engine that contains now a new engine block, an ECU tune, rebuilt K26 turbochargers, but also a specially made exhaust system with sport catalysts. Of course there were also a lot of other upgrades. After the process was over, the 993-generation Porsche 911 GT2 was capable of generating 596 horsepower, up from 450 horsepower and 847 Nm of torque, up from 586 Nm.

This is not all the tuners from Mcchip did. They have also installed a limited-slip differential from DREXLER, different aero pieces, and a KW racing suspension Competition Variant 3. To transfer the output to the road, the specialists have provided new 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

For the interior, the model got a safety roll cage, a detachable racing steering wheel, racing bucket seats from Recaro, a race-spec shifter, carbon fiber panels and a detachable racing steering wheel. Mcchip declared that the whole process took more than 800 hours and it cost approximately EUR200.000. We have to admit the tuners really know what they are doing because the results speak for themselves. This is all we managed to find out on the transformation of the 993-generation Porsche 911 GT2.
