French carmaker Renault announced the Megane RS model, a Red Bull Racing branded special edition that represents the successful partnership with the racing team. All this comes after Mark Webber won the Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix not long ago. The Renault Megane RS comes after the two special editions the Clio RB7 and the Twingo RB7, model which were announced a little earlier this year. The Renault Megane RS Red Bull Racing RB7 will be built as a limited edition and it will be available in around 24 countries.
Sales will start this month in Austria and the French customers can purchase it in September. In terms of features, the Megane RB7 has an Etoile Black body color, mirrors and rear diffuser, yellow colored front bumper spoiler, the Red Bull official logos on the doors and chequered-flag pattern roof decal. For the interior, the Renault Megane RS Red Bull Racing RB7 features a numbered plaque, a special and unique gear lever knob and Recaro bucket seats. When it comes to new technology, the model features Stop & Start system.
Under the hood it hides a 2.0-liter 16V engine capable of developing 265 PS and 360 Nm of torque. This output engages a fuel consumption of 7.5 l/100 km and the CO2 emission level reaches 174 g/km. For example, the eco-surtax the French customers have to pay was reduced by EUR550 from EUR1.300 and in the end they must take out of their pockets only EUR750. The 265 PS output can only be reached when the Sport mode is selected and the Stop & Start system is deactivated. In the Normal mode, the Renault Megane RS Red Bull Racing RB7 is capable of developing only 250 PS while the Stop & Start system is activated.
