As we can all see the Japanese model the Versa does not look as good as expected. Even if the carmaker tried to provide some elements from the Micra sub-compact, the model still look just strange with its dimensions and small wheels. French carmaker Renault managed to develop its own version of the Versa, the new Scala. The new model features different new styling elements that make it look better. To be more precise, we are talking about different tail lamps and the well-known grille featured on the front fascia, the carmaker uses for all models which are linked through a chrome strip and matte black trim offered for the bumper. With all these modifications, the new Renault Scala will not be able to gain a lot of points in terms of styling, but it looks a bit better in the pictures. Maybe we are exaggerating, but it seems the look a little more premium that the Nissan models.
The Scala is actually the 5th model the carmaker developed for the Indian market. The other cars are the Duster SUV, the Pulse hatch, the Koleos crossover and the Fluence saloon. The carmaker managed to release at least five units in 18 months in India just as it promised. The French specialists have also opened the door to 100 dealerships here. To ensure the Scala has success in India, the engineers focused on offering as much comfort as possible both to its driver and rear passengers. To be more precise, the new Renault Scala features some luxury elements as standard like leather upholstery, automatic climate control with rear blowers, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors, steering mounted audio controls and a lot more. in terms of features, the French provided dual airbags both for the driver and front passenger, ABS with brake assist and EBD. The front fog lights were also offered.
The carmaker offers the Renault Scala with two engine options. The first one is a 1.5-liter dCi diesel unit capable of developing 84 horsepower and the second one is a 1.5-liter petrol capable of generating 98 horsepower. These are all the information available on the new Scala so far.
