VW Golf R US Prices

The pricing of the 2012 VW Golf R US has recently been announced by the German car manufacturer, a price that reaches $33,990 for the two-door model, while the four-door model is priced at $36,090. It is quite an affordable price as the high sports performance of this vehicle offers driving excitement with its 256 HP. The new Golf R represents intelligent downsizing, successfully providing more power, more performance and register less gasoline consumption when compared to its iconic performance forebears. In terms of powertrain, the new Golf R is powered by the award-winning turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI engine, being more economical thanks to its estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Furthermore, the Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system is fitted into the Golf R, diverting up to 100 percent of the torque to the rear wheels. A close-ratio six-speed manual transmission is paired to the engine for all Golf R models which are going to be sold in the U.S. The refined exterior of the new Golf R is enhanced by the minimalist and clean lines which beautifully blend with intricate and sharp detailing. Its style appears to be contemporary and sleek, without compromising its timeless and elegant look. The changes applied to the car model keep the understated and sophisticated performance, revealing a new front bumper incorporating LED daytime running lights, as well as three large black air intakes that help cool the engine. The lights turn with the steering wheel, while the unique Bi-Xenon headlamps framed in black comprise the Adaptive Front-lighting System, thus ensuring an improved visibility around bends. Continuing towards the rear, the car's streamlined profile features a pair of subtly flared side skirts which run along the lower edge of the body. While the exterior mirrors have a gloss black finish, the new 18-inch alloys incorporate gloss-black-painted brake callipers that integrate the "R" logo. A subtle "R" badge together with a slightly larger tail spoiler than that of the GTI, highlight the back end. The unique calibration for the suspension of the Golf R reduces body roll and heightens steering feedback. The refinement of the interior welcomes the driver and passengers with aluminum trim for the dashboard and doors, aluminum pedals, a shifter knob with an "R" motif, a leather steering wheel and blue pointers for the instruments. The active safety features include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), and an Electronic Differential Lock (EDL). The Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS) was designed to only activate in a collision where the airbags deploy or safety belt pretensioners activate.
