What does a scorpion on a red and yellow shield symbolize? This might be a question worth of a quiz. Well, the answer is Abarth. This is the car producer that has chosen the already named logo, back in 1949 when the company was founded in Turin, Italy. And getting back to nowadays, the manufacturer is planning the Abarth 595 50th Anniversary Edition.
The Abarth 595 50th Anniversary Edition is supposed to be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in a few days. The special edition is a tribute brought to the original 595 that was launched in 1963 at the Turin Motor Show. Taking into account that the edition carries us back to the past, it’s no wonder that a retro style has been preferred by the producer when designing the vehicle. The exterior is painted in white matte and there are some handmade graphics and retro Abarth logos. The small but powerful vehicle rides on a set of 17 inch wheels and the sunroof becomes a must have, as well as the xenon headlights that guide the fortunate driver.
Stepping inside the Abarth 595 50th Anniversary Edition, we find the same sporty style materialized through the two-tone sports seats, red trim and alloy pedals. And some special features are also the flat-bottomed steering wheel, the metallic accents and the red contrasting stitching. The vehicle takes its power resources from a 1.4-liter T-Jet engine that produces 180 HP (132 kW). And the anniversary edition will contain 299 units which will be available for ordering beginning with 15th September.
