We have all been waiting for the new Alfa Romeo 4C and it is not just us, but so that you know, the 4C is the most anticipated model the Italian carmaker Alfa Romeo has developed so far. In case you are interested to know, the lightweight sports car will be available for sale in Europe this month and in the US will show its face a bit later. According to different specialists, the new Alfa Romeo 4C is a lot better than the Lotus Elise. It is more comfortable, it is easy to handle and it is also capable of greater performance. Under the hood, the model hides a 1.75-liter turbocharged direct injection gasoline engine capable of generating 236 horsepower.

The engineers have offered this engine borrowed from the Giulietta hatchback. So that you know, this model is the first of a new family of engines developed for the brand capable of achieving great performance. The 4C model developed for the US market will be around 100 kg heavier. There are some aluminum inserts in the carbon fiber chassis and there are different rules they had to comply with covering the gasoline tank and the emissions. For the European market, the 4 will weight 895 kg and the US version will be at just less than 1.000 kg.

There is no way of knowing how will the extra weight of the US 4C will interfere with the performance, but just for information. The engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds which is a bit slower than the European model.
