Alfa Romeo Disco Volante

We are more than sure that you will be really impressed by the new Alfa Romeo Disco Volante by Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera. According to the specialists, the model will be produced as a limited edition. The specialists first have to receive an official endorsement from Alfa Romeo and only then the incredible process can begin. We had the opportunity to see the Disco Volante for the first time as a concept in 2012. It is now built on the underpinnings of the Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione, which as you probably know, it has been discontinued.

The big question now remains. Where will Touring Superleggera get the donor cars to work with from? The bad news is that the specialists did not offer a lot of details on the matter. They only said that the complete car will be available after the Alfa Romeo 8C. Another option refers to the fact that the people interested in the model will need to provide their own Alfa Romeo 8C competizione. Numbers now indicate that only around 500 units will be built ever and the price tag might reach $200.000.

All units will come with a two-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and Alfa Romeo dealers will handle all service and repairs. Touring Superleggera will supply repair instructions and also parts for the ones that have Touring components and systems. Under the hood, the model comes with a 4.7-liter V8 unit and transaxle rear drive that remain untouched. The output of the car enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and to reach a top speed of 180 mph.
