We finally have the pricing list available for the UK market for the Audi A3 hatchback. Together with it, the carmaker also provided the complete specifications for the model that was just fitted with a revised and updated engine. To be more precise, we are talking about the 1.2-liter supercharged TFSI petrol engine.
Now, prices for this unit start from GBP17.905 for the base version so for the SE model equipped with a manual transmission. The price goes up to GBP22.760 for the top of the range S line version. This variant actually sends the power to the wheels through the S tronic twin-clutch transmission. The new model is now capable of generating up to 104 BHP and 1229 lb. ft. of torque. This output does not affect the fuel consumption and so, the model can cover up to six more miles per gallon in comparison to its predecessor. This happens no matter it the model comes with the 6-speed manual transmission offered as standard or with the optional 7-speed S tronic twin-clutch gearbox. In either case, the Audi A3 will deliver 57.6 mpg UK on the combined cycle. The model paired to the 6-speed manual unit will capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 0.7 seconds quicker in comparison to its predecessor, so it reaches 62 mph in 10.3 seconds. The CO2 emission has dropped from 114 g/km with 13 g/km.
The British customers have as options the A3 1.2 TFSI in SE, Sport and S-line specification. All model will come as standard with alloy wheels and also with air conditioning or climate control. The Audi Music Interface linked to an electrically retracting color MMI display screen. The list continues with Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation and Information System for the driver. The improved 1.2-liter TFSI is available only for the three-door A3 with first deliveries in May. Starting this summer, customers will also have the possibility to purchase it in the 5-door Sportback variant.
