Audi R18 Le Mans Racer-Themed A1 Sports at Worthersee

There is no doubt about it: German carmaker Audi has always been proud of its racing heritage. Not until recent, the company was all about Quattro and rallying, but now, the specialists are also about Le Mans as well. At the edition that took place this year, at the Worthersee GTI meeting to be more precise, the Germans have selected to reveal a special model, the customized A1 which is available with the R18 competition kit. If you thought the carmaker offered us all so far, well you were wrong. The specialists have still a lot to offer. Now, the kit mentioned above has nothing to do with the performance of the car and the pack either. To be really clear we have to say that these offer a unique rear spoiler, red and grey accents across the body of the car, but also new-design alloy rims to complete its appearance. For the interior, the Audi A1 Le Mans comes with specially branded floor mats and interior trim pieces that have been finished in the same color mentioned above, grey or red combination.

As it turns out, the special edition model revealed by the German now was not designed for enthusiasts, but it is still great. Thanks to the stickers and different rims a little bit more exclusive in comparison to the regular models, so it is still something. Maybe a sports suspension, a short-throw gearshift or a more powerful engine would have been useful, but like this is OK too. The new model does not attract our attention so much, but it was a risk the carmaker took. It is only a matter of time until people will forget about it.
