Audi R8 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

At the 2014 edition of the 24 Hour of Le Mans, German carmaker Audi will participate with an R8. As a preview of the biggest endurance race in the world, specialists have decided it was a good idea to drive from Munich to Le Mans in the R8. The driver that will try to lead Audi to victory is called Allan McNish. The model receives power from a V8 engine capable of generating 430 horsepower which are then being transferred to the wheels through the S-tronic seven-speed transmission. There are a lot of people who would want to make a road trim in an R8 because this model is the main link between what Audi does on the race track and what sells on the road. The R8 is actually is a version of the Lamborghini Gallardo, but of course, the two are very different in the same time.

The R8 does everything a supercar should do. The 7-speed S-Tronic twin-clutch transmission is fine and the specialists have turned into an improvement over the previous 6-speed R-Tronic, but even so, the manual transmission is in the minds of many. The driver agreed to share some insights of the experience at the wheel of the R8. the man agrees that the Le Mans is one of the toughest tests of both man and machine. Victory is now defied by tenths of a second over a distance from New York to Los Angeles at an average speed of 130 mph. The model is capable of reaching a top speed of 210 mph. The R18 e-Tron might be the most advanced racing car in the world today thanks to the carbon transmission, hybrid Quattro system, chassis handling and dynamics. This is all for now on the new R8 and the competition is about to face.
