Audi R8 V10 Plus

German carmaker Audi plans to change the image of the company with the development of the new Audi R8. Until now we did not have a lot of details available, but lately, the specialists have revealed more and more useful information. According to the carmaker, the new model will probably be expected to arrive on the market in 2015 and not sooner. There were a lot of rumors regarding the R8, but recently Auto Express compared the current model with the next generation. According to them, the two are quite similar in terms of proportions, but that the new R8 managed to adopt a more dynamic design with a prominent grille. This part in particular is flanked by several LED lights. Nothing is for sure, but the model might also come with aggressive air intakes, shorter side blades and a Le Mans double diffuser. Moving inside, we can see the cabin is slated to get a high-tech makeover, according to different sources. The Audi R8 will be equipped with a digital instrument cluster, but also with a digital instrument cluster, a digital rearview mirror and let us not forget about an upgraded MMI infotainment system. In terms of engine, you should know that the model might come with several options.

There is a 4.2-liter V8 unit capable of generating 450 BHP and the other option is a 5.2-liter V10 unit capable of generating 570 BHP. The two will come with start / stop technology and the fuel economy will be improved by up to 10 % with a cylinder deactivation system. In terms of other components, you should know the model comes with carbon fiber reinforced plastic body panels and carbon fiber reinforced plastic anti-roll bars and a lot more. Because of all of these changes, the new Audi R8 might manage to weigh less than 1.500 kg, which is quite impressive, if you ask us.
