BMW M GmbH turns 15 this year since the Official Car of MotoGP started and as a celebration, the specialists are have announced plans to award the best MotoGP qualifier with a new and improved BMW M6 Coupe. This new season is a very special one for the company and at the end, the BMW M Award for the best Moto GP qualifier will be handed over for the tenth time. Ever since 2003, the rider with the best results has been awarded an exclusive and individually customized BMW M automobile. The prize this year is a special one, a BMW M6 Coupe.


The carmaker has revealed the model a couple of days ago at the Spanish Grand prix at Jerez. All riders look for the prize and it is very important within the MotoGP. The BMW M provides better models every year and to be really honest, this year even Dorna is surprised. All riders are curious to know which the new car is and will go and check it out themselves; just to be sure they have all the information they need. The new M6 Coupe comes with an exclusive Frozen Black Metallic paintjob and this coloring continues with the matt-black, double-spoke 20-inch M light alloy wheels. So that you know, the design of the model has been developed in the wind tunnel. Under the hood it hides an M TwinPower Turbo, 8-cylinder engine capable of producing 560 horsepower.


The new technology includes carbon ceramic brakes perfect for great handling in all situations. Until now, Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner are the current record holders, each with three BMW M Awards on their name. The first winner, back in 2003, when everything started, was Nicky Hayden.
