The Detroit Motor Show is getting closer to opening its doors. Bavarian automaker BMW will introduce a new model at the event in January. We are talking about their new BMW X4. According to them, the model will be revealed as a concept and it will only be offered in the production version in 2014. The engineers will use the same platform used on the X3, but it will cost less than the X5. We all know it, internally as F26. A report indicated the fact that the new BMW X4 will be 4.65 meters long, just like the X3, or as you might know it, the F25. In terms of styling you should know that the differences between the X3 and the X4 will be along the same line as the differences between the X5 and the X6.
We expect to see an updated front fascia and an angled one-piece tailgate, but also a swooping roofline. The Sports Activity Coupe will feature the latest design language of the Bavarians with the design lines also presented on the X6. Under the hood, the new 2013 BMW X4 will receive the same engines that power the BMW X3. To be more precise, we are talking about four- and a six-cylinder gasoline and diesel units.
There is the possibility the German carmaker will decide to offer a new BMW model with a stronger 6-cylinder twin-turbo gasoline engine, the BMW X4 M; actually the future M3 will be powered by the same unit. Another possibility is to offer a BMW X4 M with a tri-turbo 3.0-liter diesel engine. The new model will be built in South Carolina at the Spartanburg factory. These are all the detail available on the matter so far.
