The 2014 BMW X5 M50d has just been introduced. It is a part of the BMW marketing politics that aims at expanding the third generation X5 lineup. However the stylish crossover will only delight the Europeans, because, this time, the other continents are not included in the expanding area. The vehicle will be available in dealerships starting November 16.
The 2014 BMW X5 M50d is not surprising, as it can very easily be recognized, but that didn’t stop the brand’s designers from offering it an evolutionary style. The new X5 features a more prominent grille, a more aerodynamic front bumper and LED headlights. The other elements that provide the CUV an air of uniqueness are the Adaptive M suspension with Dynamic Damper Control and air suspension at the back axle, the Dynamic Drive active roll stabilization and the Dynamic Performance Control. A new set of 19 inch M light-alloy wheels in double spoke design wrapped in mixed rubbers are also placed on the car. On the whole, all of these are meant to ease the driving experience.
The 2014 BMW X5 M50d takes its power resources from a Euro 6-compliant 3.0-liter tri-turbo diesel engine that generates 381 HP (280 kW) and a maximum torque of 740 Nm (546 lb-ft). The engine is linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the xDrive all-wheel drive system. This structure allows the car to sprint the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.3 seconds. And talking into account its pretty considerable size, we might say it is quite an economical vehicle. The fuel consumption is around 6.7 liters / 100 km (35.1 mpg US or 42.2 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 177 g/km.
