When you say Caterham, you automatically think of an unusual vehicle. Because this is exactly what Caterham is, a unique car designed for unique persons. It is no ordinary car. It represents the peak of driving involvement, offering a sophisticated package of handling, road holding and ride excitement. The company has just revealed its Caterham 620R.

The Caterham 620R is the replace model of the famous R500. Its public debut is made at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine that suffered some upgrading in order to generate 311 bhp (232 kW) at 7,700 rpm and 219 lb-ft (296 Nm) of torque at 7,350 rpm. This configuration will allow the 620R to run the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.79 seconds.

The Caterham 620R is equipped with a gunmetal chassis and a race inspired cooling system. The front is a little changed in order to improve the airflow. The car sits on a set of 13 inch wheels wrapped in Avon ZZR rubbers. It also has a De Dion suspension, a Q/R race steering wheel, some race seats and carbon fiber interior elements. Its price starts at 49,995 GBP (58,000 EUR / 74,600 USD) and the fans with a large pocket can buy it at the end of 2013.
