2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 review and pictures

Finally the price if the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible has been revealed. The information was made public at an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan by Al Oppenheiser chief engineer of the Camaro. The starting price if the ZL1 is $60.445 including a $900 destination charge. Actually, for the ones that need some rewinding, the ZL1 Convertible is the soft-top version of the Ford Shelby GT500 Camaro ZL1 Coupe. Under the hood it hides a 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of developing 580 horsepower and 556 lb. ft. of torque. The 2013 GT500 convertible has a retail price of $59.995 and it is capable of developing 650 horsepower and 600 lb. ft. of torque. This information is just for comparison. In the end, power is not really everything when it comes to this type of cars.


The carmaker also revealed the price for the new 2013 Camaro 1LE, a model that has as base the current SS model. This 1LE package offers better suspension geometry, lighter wheels and tires and a lot of other elements that make it very fun to drive. The standard model has a starting price f $42.995 and the Laguna Seca costs $49.990. These prices include the $750 destination charge. Beside the two models mentioned above, Chevrolet offered different other changes to the 2013 Camaro line. For example, the SS model powered by a V8 engine, features electric power-assisted steering and a dual-mode exhaust sound system developed by General Motors. The new infotainment system, MyLink will be offered as standard on LT, SS and ZL1 models for next year. The carmaker also provides different technology elements that make it even better.
