Chevrolet COPO Camaro

Chevrolet is trying to identify the customers for the new Chevy COPO Camaro. The carmaker has announced that starting tomorrow the ones that will own the limited edition 2013 COPO will be announced. According to the carmaker, the model has a starting price of $86.000. Until now 3.000 people have shown interest in the model, but unfortunately only 69 units have been built. The model was actually used by dealers in the 1960s to generate special orders. COPO stands for Central Office Production Order.

Chevrolet Camaro COPO production version will be available with two all-new engines paired to a new manual transmission. The engine range includes: a 350-cubic-inch engine capable of generating 325 horsepower, a 396-cubi-inch engine capable of producing 375 horsepower and last, but not least a 427-cubi-inch engine rated at 425 horsepower. As standard, the engineers have offered a high-feature fuel-injection system on all COPO Camaros. The rear axle gearing was also optimized for each vehicle depending on the engine and transmission. You should also know that a serialized engine can also be ordered separately, but will still be number-matched to the car.

The engineers have offered additional new and revised production elements for the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro COPO. Here we have to mention a heritage grille and standard-production headlamps, new exterior graphics choices with engine-size call-outs, dedicated racing wiring harness and revised interior package with custom carpet and new switch panel. There are also 5 exterior new colors available for the 2013 model. The production process is scheduled to begin in April, with deliveries starting at the beginning of this summer. Each Chevy Camaro COPO features a sequenced build serial number matched to the engine, but is sold without a Vehicle Identification Number and cannot be registered for highway use. The COPO parts must be ordered and delivered through Chevrolet detailers and other authorized retailers.
