The Brazil par of General Motors is getting ready for some action. They have prepared a new model for the 27th Sao Paulo International Automobile Trade Show, to be more precise, we are talking about the all-new 2013 Chevrolet Onix. The event will take place later this month and until then, the carmaker offered some images for the curious person in us. Even if the images are a bit blurry, we can totally tell it will be a very attractive hatchback which for sure will not be sold on the US market. Apparently the car uses the GM Gamma II Global Small Vehicle platform so it is really not a big tragedy not seeing the model on the US streets.
When it comes to its style we can see is punctuated by diamond-shaped headlights and sharp lines starting with the hood and continuing along the sides of the body. The carmaker will introduce the MyLink infotainment system for the Onix and it will also be one of the few cars in its class to offer a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It will also be available with a 5-speed manual one. Beside the 6-speed automatic, it also allows modifications in sequential mode and has the adaptive system of gear changes that suit the gear changes according to the driving style of the driver.
American General Motors Company and its partners produce vehicles in thirty countries and it is actually the leader in the largest automotive market in the world. Last year, GM Brazil sold 632.219 Chevrolet vehicles in the country. This subsidiary is one of five centers in the world in the creation and development of vehicles when it comes to manufacturing, design and engineering. These are all the information on the new Chevrolet Onix so far, but more will be available in a couple of weeks.
