Chevrolet, or shortly Chevy, is a brand of vehicle produced under General Motors mother-company. It was founded by Louis Chevrolet and ousted General Motors founder William C. Durant on November 3, 1911 as the Chevrolet Motor Car Company. It was then bought by General Motors in 1918. Chevrolet-branded cars are present in most automotive markets worldwide, with plenty of success. And because of the nowadays trend, the one according to which car manufacturers need to be more considered with the environment, Chevrolet lines up. The company has presented the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV.
The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV gathers together smart performance and connectivity technologies. Now it is the moment when the five door small car officially goes on sale. Its price starts from $27 495 and this makes it the most accessible EV car on the market. It is not only the most affordable vehicle, but it is also considered to be the most efficient vehicle ever manufactured. The Chevy Spark EV is powered by an ultimate generation electric engine and battery system. It includes coaxial drive unit and electric motor. Both of them together produce 130 hp (110 kW) and 400 lb.-ft. (542 Nm) of torque. As a strong point of the Spark, the 20 kWh lithium ion battery is well known as one of the best in the auto field. The battery is especially created to offer safety, durability and reliability. Its weight is 560 pound (254 kg) and has a volume of 133 liters, containing 336 prismatic cells.
The mini Chevrolet Spark is equipped with a fast charging option that allows it to recharge to 80% of the capacity in just 20 minutes. However, a full regular charge lasts for about seven hours in 240 V charge. The vehicle touches modernism with a MyLink infotainment system that has a seven inch touch screen, Siri Eyes Free, Pandora, BringGo navigation, and RemoteLink application. In order to make the car more efficient, its aerodynamic has been improved a lot. Starting June, we can admire the little one on the road, because it is the month when deliveries begin.
