This year at the Paris Motor Show, these days actually, different carmaker present their latest achievements. One of them is Chevrolet, presenting its all-new Trax, the first entry to the fast-growing small SUV segment. It measures 4.248 mm in length, 1.776 mm in width and 1.674 mm in height and it will be available with a choice of three fuel-efficient engines and sporty, responsive ride characteristics.

For the interior, the specialists have offered powerful body lines and a planted stance, but the engineers and the designed have also put a lot of effort into refining the aerodynamics of the car. The new Chevrolet Trax features an integrated roof spoiler that contributes to the aerodynamic efficiency. To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have fitted the car with 16- or 18-inch wheels. In terms of engines, the specialists offer three options. The first one is a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline unit capable of developing 140 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. The second option is a 1.7-liter gasoline engine capable of generating 130 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque and last, there is also a 1.6-liter gasoline unit available. The first two are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission to send the power to the wheels. Also, the engineers offer an AWD system for the variants equipped with the 1.4-liter turbo gasoline or the 1.7-liter diesel engine.

The new Chevrolet Trax features different passive and active safety systems. Apart from the unibody structure consisting of high-strength steels, the model will boast six standard airbags, 3-point seatbelts on all seats and also a releasable pedal assembly. The engineers offer Traction Control, Electronic Brake Distribution and Anti-Lock Braking System and also Hill Start Assist. The Trax features Chevrolet MyLink. With it phone calls can be conveniently placed by selecting a name from a stored directory and then touching the call function. Also, a rearview camera is part of the MyLink infotainment package and provides assistance during parking maneuvers. The app from the smart-phone features Lane guidance which will help drivers by displaying the correct lanes to stay in.
