That the client is the center of the universe is a fact that every business is based on, the auto field making no exception. And Citroen is one of the automakers that respect every word of the saying. For the French company, which is, by the way, a dynamic and continuously changing brand, the race segment in the auto field is quite important. In this sense, they presented their new World Touring Car Championship race car, the Citroen C Elysee.
The official premiere of the Citroen C Elysee is scheduled for the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September. It is more that probable that the new race car will be seen competing in the coming season of the championship. And, surprise or not, the French manufacturer decides to trust their car to Sebastien Loeb, a name that does not need any presentation.
The Citroen C Elysee is powered by a direct injection 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 380bhp at 6,000rpm and 400Nm at 4,500rpm. The car weights 1,100kg, including the driver, not that he has a significant number of kilograms. The traction comes from the front wheels and the power is being provided by a Sadev six-speed sequential transmission and a mechanical self-locking differential. The aerodynamics is perfectly adapted to the race track. The Elysee is equipped with a new front bumper and splitter, an updated rear bumper including a big splitter, some side skirts and a massive wing at the back. The interior is still a dilemma since there are no photos illustrating it. But we shall wait for September to discover some more information.
