Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept

Citroen is a French car manufacturer known in the world as a dynamic and continuously improving brand. For them, the saying “our client is our master” is as true as it can be. The Auto Shanghai is the stage where Citroen has presented more of its creations. The latest of them is the so called Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept. And we are talking here about a luxurious hybrid crossover.

The Citroen DS Wild Rubis is powered by a 1.6-liter THP gasoline engine outputting 225 HP (165 kW) which is mated with an electric motor placed on the rear axle that produces an extra 70 HP (51.5 kW). The electric motor takes its resources from a lithium-ion battery which can be charged from a regular household socket. The vehicle has 4.70m length, 1.95m wideness and 1.59m height and a 2.9m wheelbase.

The electric power allows the Citroen Wild Rubis to run about 31 miles (50 km) whereas when combining the two engines it has pretty low CO2 emissions of 43g/ km. When the car is fast accelerated it changes automatically to four wheel drive mode, with the gas engine manipulating the front wheels and the electric engine running the rear axle. The full hybrid plug-in technology of DS Wild Rubis is perfectly in line with Citroen’s commitment to environmentally considerate motoring.
