This next weekend, in the US will take place the 24 Hour of Le Mans and fans will have a lot to see there. The race marks the return of a new Viper to the most famous endurance race in the world. Just to make a better idea, back in 1998, 1999 and 2000, the Viper GTS-R won its class at Le Mans and this is why the bar is set at the highest possible point for its return to the French Classic. It is almost positive that North American fans will pray for the GTS-R this weekend.
One of their questions will probably refer to how it feels to drive such a great car. Just for comparison, the closest thing to driving the GTS-R is the SRT Viper GT3-R, if is of any help. This model is a direct descendent of the GTS-R advertized by SRT Motorsports in the LM GTE Pro Class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the American Le Mans Series. So that you know, the model has been developed and designed by SRT Motorsports together with Riley Technologies. According to Chrysler, the technology developed for the factory version of the GTS-R for the factory GTS-R for engine, chassis, suspension, electronics and aerodynamics is incorporated into every Viper GT3-R.
The car comes with an aerodynamic package, but also to transfer the power to the wheels, the engineers have used the X-trac 6-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters, six-piston front brake calipers with 4-piston rears, a multi-disc race clutch, but also lightweight wheels. The new model receives power from an 8.3-liter V10 engine capable of generating 680 horsepower and 640 lb. ft. of torque. The starting price was established at $459.000, I case someone decides to become owner.
