Donkervoort D8 GTO

Donkervoort Automobielen B.V., founded by Joop Donkervoort, has been building sport cars since 1978. The combination of appealing styling, ultra-light weight, high power output and fantastic road holding like a racing car, has created a sports car that makes the hearts of car enthusiasts beat faster.

The last series they have received approval to build was D8 GTO. With support from Audi AG, Donkervoort’s fixed partner in the field of engines, and from Bosch AG, Donkervoort obtained the new European Community Small Series Type Approval (ECSSTA). The approval guarantees that the car meets high quality standards, and it also gives Donkervoort access to new markets, such as those in Eastern Europe.

Production is expected to begin in April or May. The car will be offered to the entire European continent, including Russia, Switzerland and the Gulf States, too. Up till now, 25 specially designed units have already been sold. However delivers are scheduled for the future year.
Donkervoort D8 GTO gets its power from an Audi 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbo engine which can produce up to 400 HP (294 kW) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft). It allows the vehicle, which weights 1,653 lbs (750 kg), to reach a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in three seconds. Its best speed is 158 mph (255 km/h).

The car is provided with a carbon/aluminum/steel tubular hybrid chassis featuring carbon fiber/fiber glass body panels, which makes it an easy car. The lightweight construction will bring the D8 GTO to a fuel consumption of 10-12 liters / 100 km (24-28 mpg UK). A Donkervoort is the ultimate choice for the true enthusiast who desires sheer motoring enjoyment in a sports car full of personality.
