Ferrari LaFerrari is the maximum expression of what defines the Italian car manufacturer, excellence. Excellence found in everything, in technological innovation, performance, visionary styling and the sheer thrill of driving. As LaFerrari became one of the most wanted super cars in the world since its launch at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show, Ferrari made the decision of selling the wonderful speeder in Asia, more specifically, in China.
LaFerrari comes in a limited edition of 499 models. From all these, 50 will be heading for the Chinese roads. It seems the people there love the brand as the company already has 25 dealerships in the Asian country and there are plans for 5 more in 2015. Of course, as accustomed, Ferrari built LaFerrari as a perfect car. So let us remind some of the most relevant characteristics it has.
The soul of LaFerrari is a V12 6262cc engine producing 800 HP (588 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque at 6,750 rpm combined with an electric motor outputting an additional 163 HP (120 kW) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm). The hybrid technology used, known as HY-KERS, represents the perfect combination of maximum performance and lower emissions, which for this car are 330 g/km of CO2. The vehicle can reach 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds. LaFerrari’s architecture meant the first challenge for the Ferrari team in planning the stage of the design. The aim was to achieve ideal weight distribution (59% at the rear) and a compact wheelbase despite the extra bulk of the hybrid system. It remains to be een how well received the car will be in China.
