Italian carmaker Fiat introduced a new model, the small crossover 2013 Fiat Panda 4x4. The specialists have revealed the new car before its official debut scheduled for September at the Paris Motor Show. To be more precise, the 4x4 Panda is the latest model in a generation that saw the light of the day for the first time 30 years ago. It has as base the regular 5-door Panda tall hatchback and it measures 3.680 mm in length, 1.670 mm in width and 1.600 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2.300 mm with a front track of 1.410 mm and a rear one of 1.400 mm.
The carmaker offers new colors as well which were created especially for the 2013 Fiat Panda 4x4. These are called Sicilia orange and Toscana green. To send the output to the road, the car uses 15-inch alloy rims covered in 175 / 65 R15 M+S tires. For the interior of the new car, Fiat specialists have offered different seat and door panel upholstery, while also improving storage with the addition of a new console. The Italians also added a new green frame around the dashboard. The engineers use a torque on demand-transmission system with two differentials and electronically controlled coupling. This FWD system is being controlled by an electronic control unit that actually distributes traction between the front and rear axle according to the road conditions.
In terms of engine, the Italian carmaker offers the 2013 Fiat Panda 4x4 with two engine choices. One is the 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo petrol capable of developing 84 horsepower and the second one is the 1.3-liter MultiJet II diesel which has an output of 74 horsepower. To send the power produced to the wheels, the carmaker equipped the new 4x4 Panda with a 6-speed manual transmission and with a standard Start & Stop system.
