Time has for aftermarket specialists from Abarth to reveal more details on the Fiat Punto SuperSport. The high-performance model had its first official public display at the Frankfurt Motor show. Some of the elements that make it special and easy to spot are the matte black accents, the Grey Campovolo and that fact that it transfers the power to the road through a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. This is the first time the vehicle receives a power upgrade of 180 horsepower range. Together with the matte black paint for the roof and hood, the model becomes more refined and attractive from the aesthetically point of view. Fiat Punto SuperSport is actually top of the new offer Abarth Punto 2012 when it comes to characterization and performance. Under the hood, the new Fiat Punto features a 1.4-liter engine equipped with MultiAir technology capable of developing 180 horsepower. This amount of power enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and to reach a top speed of 216 km/h. The new designed alloys underline the sporty character of the car being painted in matte black inner and red calipers. The maximum performance is underlined by the front discs and solid rear brakes. On the inside, there are a lot of special elements with exclusive details. Some of them are front sport seats in fabric and leather steering wheel, pedal steel and the sill plate, mats in the needle with graphics shown in plate and electro chrome effect, Blue & Me system with steering wheels and a lot more. The Fiat Punto SuperSport has a starting price of EUR21.900 in Italy. The carmaker will build it as a limited edition and only 199 units will be available for sale.
