This week at the Mobile world congress that took place in Barcelona, American carmaker ford has introduced the specs for the European variant of the 2013 Ford EcoSport. The model will be equipped with ford SYNC voice-activated in-car connectivity system, but also with SYNC Emergency Assistance. So that you know, the model will be the first Ford vehicle in Europe to offer Ford SYNC AppLink, which enables customers to voice-control smart phone app from the seat of the driver.

The new Ford EcoSport model will be the second SUV to be launched in the European range that keeps expanding the moment it goes on sale at the end of this year. It will actually follow the Ford Kuga, a model that has been launched recently. The American carmaker will also bring to Europe the next generation Ford Escape. This is actually a larger and more premium utility vehicle very well known in the US and also in other markets. The new Ford EcoSport will be capable of delivering agility, fuel efficiency together with flexibility, spaciousness and high driving position. Customer will have a lot of app options that will be able to enjoy like from home, but while on the move. The SYNC with Emergency Assistance directly connects the vehicle occupants to local emergency services operators after an accident.

The mobile network will show the accident location and will also choose the appropriate language in which to deliver an introductory message. The model will receive power from a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine capable of generating 125 PS, but the other options are a 1.5-liter petrol with 110 outputs and a 1.5-liter diesel engine capable of producing 90 PS. All these are expected to offer class-leading fuel efficiency. The carmaker will also offer a comprehensive package of driver assistance technologies like Hill Launch Assist and Electronic Stability Program.
