This year, at the New York Auto Show, the American carmaker Ford released the new 2013 Ford Explorer Sport. Only two months ago, the specialists have released the price list, but the power it was capable of was still a mystery. Not long ago, official information arrives according to which the strong SUV with its 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine is capable of developing more than 350 horsepower. At the end of last week, on Friday, the Americans declared that the performance version of the new Explorer series is capable of producing 365 horsepower and 350 lb. ft. of torque. This output matches the one the Taurus SHO has, a model powered by the same 3.5-liter turbocharged V6.
Apparently, the new 2013 Ford Explorer Sport has received an official EPA-rated fuel consumption of 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. It seems that the American carmaker Ford is proud to say the 3 mpg fuel consumption in the city and the 2 mpg fuel economy on the highway of the new 2013 Ford Explorer Sport is better than the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Durando R/T, both powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI engine. Just for the sake of comparison, the new Explorer Sport has 3 mpg in the city and 4 mpg on the highway better fuel consumption than the Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The North American customers will have the opportunity to purchase the new 2013 Ford Explorer Sport. To do it, they will have to take out of their pockets at least $41.545. This sum includes the $825 destination fee. This is all the Blue Oval revealed so far.
