Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost 100 PS

We will now tell you more on a new development coming from American carmaker Ford, the 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This is one of the most adaptable units used in the last 30 years, at least on the European market. We had the opportunity to see it starting with the 1990s in the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 sedans, but also in the Renault Clio and a lot more. The classic model will be available now with a smaller-displacement, but that will have the same power thanks to a turbocharger. A lot of carmakers are now trying to develop new, lighter units, even though that first one to do it was Volkswagen with its 1.8-liter 20-valve unit.

The new 1.6-liter coming from Ford is replacing the 1.0liter EcoBoost three-pot turbo, found under the bonnet of a mid-spec Focus hatchback. It is capable of generating 100 horsepower thanks to the 3-cylinder unit which is also quite. The Fiesta will also get it, but it will offer a different experience. In terms of fuel consumption, the model will reach 8.4 litters f fuel per 100 km. The new steering of the Focus is one of the sharper electric setups we have ever seen from Ford. When it comes to the interior of the model, we have to mention that it has a complete package with soft materials and a great and comfortable driving position.

The model with the new unit can take great corners and the fully-independent suspension is one of the strong points of the model. We will now just have to wait and see when the new unit will come effective. Only then will we be able to see what it is really capable of. In the meantime, lease check out the photo gallery we have prepared for you.
