Shelby American is now revealing a new model, the 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake Wide Body, a model capable of generating 850 horsepower, but also the new performance tuned Shelby Ford Focus ST, during the 2013 edition of the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit. Both models represent book-ends in the lineup of the high performance vehicles.
The engineers have offered the optional wide body package for the first one and this offers the Super Snake much more traction and makes it easy to exploit. The options available in terms of color include Satin Black, Gloss White, Silver, Blue and Red stripes. Also you should know that the car is now available with rear-wheel drive or with front and rear wide body packages.
Moving one, we will turn our attention towards the new Shelby Focus ST which has the perfect platform for the rebirth of the front-wheel drive turbo 4-cyliinder Shelby. This model was tested at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and it represents a driver-focused masterpiece of performance with a very good price. The suspension pieces offered by Ford Racing lower the car while the wheels and tires improve grip and traction. To handle the extra power, American engineers have offered bigger Shelby spec brakes with drilled rotors which enhance the stopping power. For the insider, the model got a complete Shelby branded specially made interior finished off with the unique Shelby CSM badge. On the outside we can see the functional hood vents, hydro-carbon front and rear grille inserts, rear Hydro-carbon spoiler and Shelby lettering.
The price for the 2013 Shelby Focus ST starts at $14.995 and for the GT500 Super Snake starts at $39.995 for the improved version. Apparently the American carmaker is not accepting orders for the limited edition cars.
