Not long ago, Honda offered us the first information on the US 2013 Honda Accord lineup. Now, time has come to find out more on the Sedan and Coupe versions. Apparently, the sedan will be available for purchase this month and the coupe models can be found in dealerships starting next month. There is also the Accord HPEV, but this model will only be available at the beginning of next month.
No matter which variant you will choose, the carmaker offers them both with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder Earth Dreams engine capable of developing 185 horsepower. This output will be transferred to the wheels through a CVT or a new 6-speed manual transmission. There is another story with the Honda Accord Sport Sedan. Even if it has the same engine, this version can only develop 189 horsepower. The ones that want more can also choose he 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of generating 278 horsepower. This output will be sent to the wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. All model equipped with the 2.4-liter engine have a fuel consumption of 36 mpg and the ones fitted with the larger unit have a fuel economy of 34 mpg. The engineers have really thought about everything.
The models feature an independent multi-link rear configuration and a MacPherson front suspension. The four-wheel brake discs with EBD, ABS and Brake Assist provide the stopping power. This is not all the equipment the carmaker is offering. The new vehicles also feature Hill Start Assist and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. According to the carmaker, the new sedan version of the new 2013 Accord will be available in six different levels: LX, LX Sport, EX, EX-L, EX-L V6 and Touring. The Coupe Accord will be available in only four trim levels, the LX-S, EX, EX-L and last, but not least, the EX-L V6.
For the exterior, the specialists have offered nine exterior colors and the interior is covered in black, gray and ivory cloth or even leather, for the ones with different tastes. In terms of safety, the model comes equipped with Vehicle Stability Assist and six airbags. If this is not enough, clients can also opt for optional safety equipment available which includes Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning.
