Honda Civic Tourer

A lot of carmakers are thinking about launching their new models before an important auto show, like for example now, the Frankfurt and Paris Motor Show that will take place in September. One of the reasons might refer to the attention from the press and of course the readers and the consumers as well, implicitly. On the other side, there is a negative part when it comes to releasing the model earlier. People might lose interested on the product before the show. Let us take for example, the Japanese carmaker Honda decided that the brand-new Civic Tourer who has decided to reveal the brand-new Civic Tourer online alone, several weeks before the Frankfurt Auto Show. The model is being built in Europe for the local market and this is actually the production version of the Civic Wagon Concept model which we had the opportunity to see for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March later this year.

In comparison to the concept model, the production version will not have some of the elements presented in the concept version. Here we have to mention the big wheels, LED lights and the rear diffuser with the central-mounted tailpipes. Otherwise it remains the same. The specialists have offered a class leading trunk capacity of 624 liters with the rear seats in place. The carmaker declared that the cargo area will accommodate 2 full-size mountain bikes or 3 large-sized Samsonite cases with the standard tonneau cover pulled over to cancel the cases. Customers will have the opportunity to choose between two power trains. The first one is a 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbo diesel capable of generating 118 horsepower and the second one is a 1.8-liter i-VTEC gasoline unit that will use either a manual or an automatic transmission to transfer the output to the wheels.
