Honda CR-Z Facelift

It seems that Japanese carmaker Honda took us for a ride. They have made different announcements so far about the official debut of their new, facelift version of the Honda CR-Z compact sports hybrid. They said the model will be officially revealed at the Paris Motor Show later this month. It seems that they have decided to do it earlier, at the Indonesia International Motor Show, to be more precise, that took place yesterday in Jakarta. In terms of changes the specialists have offered a new upgraded front grille that now does not have its vertical bars, a new front bumper, new fog lamps, the door mirrors and the rear diffuser have new shapes, HID headlamps which contain LED daytime running lights, LED rear lights and to send the power to the road, the engineers have provided 17-inch alloy wheels. This is all we can see for the exterior.

With the inside, the situation is not better. The only visible modification is the two-tone red and fabric for the seats. The combined output for the standard CR-Z hybrid power train was 122 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque. The facelift version of the Honda CR-Z equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission is now capable of producing 134 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque and the one equipped with the CVT can generate 133 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque. The Japanese engineers have also offered a new Plus Sport System that can be easily activated by simply pushing an S+ button found on the dashboard. Of course, this will sacrifice some of the green credentials, but if the driver wants more power, it is always good to know he or she can have it. More details will be revealed soon at the Paris Motor Show in a few days, on the 27th to be more precise.
