This year in Paris at the 2012 Motor Show we had the opportunity to see a revised version of the 2013 Honda CR-Z. According to the carmaker, the model will be available in British dealerships starting next year in January. The carmaker has established the starting price at GBP20.550 for the Sport variant. The top of the range GT version will cost GBP23.050. The specialists have offered a lot of new elements to improve the exterior appearance of the car, but the interior was not forgotten either. To be more precise, Honda engineers have provided a new front bumper design, but also a new rear diffuser and a different grille.
In terms of interior the color scheme was modified and the cabin storage got some improvements as well. The true highlights of the makeover can be found under the hood. The specialists have tried to improve the 1.5-liter petrol engine, but also the ECU unit and variable valve timing system. The engine is now capable of generating 7 horsepower more reaching at least 112 horsepower and going up to almost 119 horsepower. The 2013 Honda CR-Z also got the IMA hybrid system that includes a new lithium-ion battery that replaces the nickel-metal hybrid one. This increases the power by up to 20 horsepower. In the end, the carmaker obtained a combined output of 135 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mpg in 9.1 seconds, down from 10.0. These figures are available for the Sport version of the CR-Z. The GT can reach 62 mph in 9.5 seconds, down from 10.1 seconds.
The carmaker offered a new element for the new car, a new Sport Plus boost system. This can be activated by a button and increases the output by 10 seconds. The fuel economy remains the same, so 56.5 mpg UK on the combine cycle when it comes to the Sport version and 54.3 mpg UK when it comes to the other one.
