Today at the 2013 edition of the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit, Honda presents their new achievement, the new Honda Urban SUV Concept, for the first time. The model is scheduled to go on sale in Japan sometime before the end of 2013 and will reach the North American market only next year. Honda officials hope to meet the needs of their customers thanks to the fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive SUV in the US. The new Honda has an incredible design, flexible packaging and next-generation connectivity targeting active lifestyle clients. According to the manufacturer, the new Honda Urban SUV Concept is 9 inches shorter than the Honda CR-V. This can only mean it is has an ideal size for traveling on crowded city streets and open mountain roads. Know that the new car represents the expansion of vehicles that have as base the Honda Global Compact Series. Here we have the Honda Fit sub-compact and the Honda City sub-compact sedan. This model is actually being sold outside the US market.
The new Honda will feature fuel-efficient Earth Dreams Technology and will be priced and positioned below the CR-V. It will also have the configurable Magic Seat setup that can provide a host of passenger and cargo options. We will also find next generation telematics and a modern interior.
It will be manufactured along with the Fit in Mexico at a new plant that is scheduled for opening in the spring of next year. The carmaker hopes to build more than 1.5 million units by the end of 2016 and also hopes to remain a global small-car leader. Well, we will have to see about that, but anything is possible. These are all the details available on the matter so far, but soon more will come to you.
