The Jaguar team keeps impressing us with all their innovations in terms of automotive industry. Not long ago, we had the opportunity to see several photos of the new F-Type Coupe and we do have to say that the specialists have done a really great job. This new model seems to be even better than the already available roadster version of the series that was previewed with the CX16 concept which has been introduced for the first time at the 2011 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new Coupe model will be released for the public at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week and according to the carmaker the model will be available for sale starting with the spring of next year. The ones interested in the model will have three options in terms of engine. The top of the range is the R model which has a starting price of $65.000, excluding an $895 destination and handling fee. This means it will be $4.000 cheaper in comparison to the roadster. The base version of the model will come with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 unit capable of generating 335 horsepower. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and to reach a top speed of 161 mph. Next on the list is the S model that will come with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 unit capable of producing 375 horsepower.
This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and to reach a top speed of 171 mph and the price for this variant starts at $77.000. The R Roadster can be purchased for a starting price of $99.000. Under the hood it hides a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 unit found in the XKR-S and XKR-S capable of generating 542 horsepower. The output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and to reach a top speed of 186 mph. To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have decided to offer a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with a full manual sequential control for the rear wheels.
