Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performance

There are a lot of us that think about the Lamborghini Gallardo as being rare supercars and we are right, in a way. I mean, the carmaker has only produced a few units for a model all through its life. Things started to be a bit different when Audi was in charge in 1998. They have started selling the Diablo. That was the moment Lamborghini started selling the Gallardo bit time. According to different sources, the Italians have sold 14.022 units of the Gallardo starting with 2003 and until 2013. A couple of days ago, the last one was produced and it is a Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performance that comes in a Rosso Mars shade. The carmaker built it especially for a private collector which will soon have the possibility to enjoy it.

The Gallardo series has been in production for the last decade and thanks to this, it is now the most commercially successful model ever. The engineers manage to build up to 2000 units per year, which is quite impressive, especially if we think about how things were in the first 40 years of existence of the company, when the manufacturer only had the opportunity to build 250 units per year. The company was founded back in 1963 and ever since, the specialists have managed to build 30.000 units and the Gallardo is responsible for almost half of them. We had the opportunity to see it for the first time back in 2003 in the shape of the open-top Spyder added to the lineup in 2005, followed by the Superleggera coupe released in 2007. In 2008, the Gallardo received a new engine with gasoline direct injection capable of generating 560 PS. The output of the Superleggera reached 270 PS. The next update arrived last year and, apparently, the Italians plan to replace the Gallardo now with a new model that might carry the name Cabrera, but this will only be next year.
