Land Rover Range Rover Sport teaser

The British from Land Rover decided upon the place where they will show for the first time their brand new 2014 Range Rover Sport. This event is programmed to happen in the New York Auto Show on 26th March.

This is the third model of the new Range Rover family launched in two years. It is expected to be the fastest, most responsive and most agile vehicle of the company. The engine will remain the same as in the regular Range Rover. It will be provided with a 3.0-liter LR-TDV6 diesel which will be able to produce 255 hp (190 kW) and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. The more powerful 4.4-liter LR-SDV8 diesel will have 335 hp (250 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm).

As for the gasoline engines, they will possess a 5.0-liter LR-V8 which is capable of producing 375 hp (280 kW) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft), along with a supercharged LR-V8 outputting 504 hp (376 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque. This new Range Rover Sport will probably lose some weight comparing it to the now going variant. This means it will have about 300 kg (661 lbs) less that the previous model.

Planned to go on sale before the end of the year, the new Range Rover Sport is supposed to have an Evoque-like front fascia with a two-bar grille and slender headlights. Some different taillights, tailgate-mounted spoiler and a sloping roofline are to be seen on the vehicle.

The place chosen by the British to launch their new car is not accidental. New York represents the largest market for the Range Rover Sports cars. The launch will be broadcast live through a special site dedicated for the event. For now, the only certain thing related to this topic is a teaser photo. So, what remains to be done is wait for the 26th March to get more information.
