Lexus is one of the models that will always make us wonder how it feels while behind the wheel. There are a lot of drivers that had the opportunity to test it especially that it has been on sale since 2012 on the European market. The carmaker has offered it as a three models range and here we can mention the GS 250, the GS350 AWD and last, but not least, the GS 450h. We are now preparing for the fourth generation Lexus GS that will include a second hybrid model. We are actually talking about the GS 300h which will go on sale before the year ends. Under the hood, the model receives a hybrid power train that includes a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine and two electric motors capable of generating up to 178 horsepower.
This system is very similar to the hybrid system powering the IS 300h. to transfer the power to the rear wheels, the engineers have offered an Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission that will offer a total output of 220 horsepower. In terms of fuel consumption, the new hybrid model will use 4.7 liters of fuel per 100 km and will emit up to 109 g of CO2 per km. the carmaker sees the GS 300h as an alternative to all its rivals equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel. The specialists hope to obtain more than 55 % of all GS sales in Europe with this model.
For those of you who enjoy a sports model better, Lexus will also release a F Sport version that will come equipped with a front and rear suspension to enhance the available Adaptive Variable Suspension in order to improve the steering response and to improve handling as well. The new model will come with high speed Wi-Fi connectivity, boot-type shift lever design, a new optional color Head-Up Display and a lot more.
