Japanese carmaker Lexus shared with us some insights concerning the 2014 Lexus IS with the help of an enthusiast. As we all know, the models receives power from a 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of generating 416 horsepower and 371 lb. ft. of torque which are being sent to the rear wheels through the quick-spinning V8. According to the driver, this model is very hard to handle in comparison to other luxury cars. To transfer the output to the wheels the engineers have equipped the model with the 8-speed automatic borrowed from the F to the new IS.
The automatic option was actually well thought because the manual one does not react just as fast to be capable of handling all the power developed by the engine. The driver agrees, the automatic mode is the best choice, even though it is not really the best. The Lexus IS F is stiff over roads with bad surfaces with zero lean in hard crners. Our spy also told us that the model is also very loud when accelerating hard maybe because it has a flat, metallic bark if exhausts note that seems to be perfect for a Nissan Z model and not a Lexus IS F.
The new version of the model has several high-gloss carbon fiber, bright white leather and black trim which are not bad, but in comparison to the most recent Lexus interiors seems to be a bit behind time. The Japanese manufacturer will not discontinue the IS F and we have even heard the model will stay on sale until the specialists will decide to develop a second generation of the F. there is no way of knowing weather there will be one and if yes, it is hard to tell when. The test car had a price established at $65.804. The output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and to reach a top speed of 170 mph.
